In the last round of the tournament Boca eliminated:
1. Junior de Barranquilla (Colombia)
2. Vasco da Gama (Brazil)
3. Palmeiras (Brazil)
4. Cruz Azul (Mexico, the same team that crushed River 3-0).
Boca defended its title from last year and is champion of the Libertadores Cup for the fourth time, as in 1977, 1978 and 2000.
